SEVENTY ONE (71) NEW CASES, TOTAL COVID-19 CASES IN CENTRAL VISAYAS AT TWO THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED NINETY SEVEN (2,297). TOTAL LABORATORY NEGATIVE INCREASED TO ONE HUNDRED FORTY ONE (141). EIGHT (8) NEW DEATHS RECORDED, TOTAL DEATHS NOW AT FORTY THREE (43).
The Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH CVCHD) through the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory (VSMMC SNL) has released as of 5:00 pm on 21 May 2020, two hundred forty one (241) test results. A total of fifty seven (57) positive results, one (1) of which was a repeat test of a previously confirmed case, were reported.
The DOH CVCHD-operated Cebu TB Reference Laboratory Molecular Facility for COVID-19 Testing (CTRL-MFCT) released three hundred twenty seven (327) results, fifteen (15) of which were positive for COVID-19
The fifty six(56) new cases from VSMMC- SNL and fifteen (15) new cases from CTRL-MFTC have increased the total COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas to two thousand, two hundred ninety seven (2,297). These cases are from Cebu City (31), Cebu Province (3), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Cebu City (9), Mandaue City (8), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Mandaue City (11) and Lapu-Lapu City (9).
There are eight (8) new deaths reported. One (1) death is from Cebu Province, an eighteen (18) year old male who had community acquired pneumonia. The seven (7)deaths from Cebu City are as follows : 1) a fifty-three (53) year old male, who had sepsis secondary to community acquired pneumonia, 2) an eighty one (81) year old male who died due to septic shock, 3) a thirty eight (38) year old male who died due to multi organ failure secondary to community acquired pneumonia, 4) a seventy five (75) year old male due to acute respiratory failure, 5) an eighty five (85) year old female, who had cerebrovascular disease bleed and acute respiratory failure, 6) a sixty (60) year old female and 7) a seventy five (75) year old male. Details of the last two reported deaths still have to be validated.

ONE HUNDRED (100) NEW CASES, TOTAL COVID-19 CASESIN CENTRAL VISAYAS AT TWO THOUSAND,TWO HUNDRED TWENTY SIX (2,226). TOTAL LABORATORY NEGATIVE INCREASED TO ONE HUNDRED THIRTY FOUR (134). TOTAL DEATHS REMAIN AT THIRTY FIVE (35).
The Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH CVCHD) through the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory (VSMMC SNL) has released as of 5:00 pm on 20 May 2020, two hundred sixteen (216) test results. A total of seventy nine (79) positive results, two (2) of which are repeat tests of previously confirmed cases reported.
The DOH CVCHD-operated Cebu TB Reference Laboratory Molecular Facility for COVID-19 Testing (CTRL-MFCT) released two hundred sixty(260) results, twenty three (23) of which were positive for COVID-19.
The seventy seven (77) new cases from VSMMC- SNL and twenty three (23) new cases from CTRL-MFTC increased the total COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas to two thousand, two hundred twenty six (2,226). These cases are from Cebu City (9), Cebu Province (1), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Cebu City (23), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Mandaue City (66) and Lapu-Lapu City (1).
The additional confirmed cases have slightly decreased the case fatality rate or the percentage of deaths among those who are infected with COVID- 19, from 1.65 % to 1.57 %. It is still lower compared to the global average of 6.4%.

TOTAL COVID-19 CASES IN CENTRAL VISAYAS AT TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED TWENTY SIX (2,126). TOTAL LABORATORY NEGATIVE INCREASED TO ONE HUNDRED FIFTEEN (115). FIVE (5) NEW DEATHS RECORDED, TOTAL DEATHS NOW AT THIRTY FIVE (35).
The Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH CVCHD) through the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory (VSMMC SNL) has released as of 5:00 pm on 19 May 2020, two hundred fifty four (254) test results. A total of forty five (45) positive results, four (4) of which were repeat tests of previously confirmed cases were reported.
The DOH CVCHD-operated Cebu TB Reference Laboratory Molecular Facility for COVID-19 Testing (CTRL-MFCT) released one hundred sixty four (164) results, thirty eight (38) of which were positive for COVID-19. However, two (2) of the positive results were repeat tests of previously confirmed cases.
Allegiant Regional Care Hospital (ARC) in Lapu-Lapu City, a privately owned accredited COVID Testing Center, has released twenty (20) test results having four (4) positive results, of which one (1) being a repeat test of a previously confirmed case.
The forty one (41) new cases from VSMMC- SNL, thirty six (36) new cases from CTRL-MFTC and three (3) from ARC have increased the total COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas to two thousand, one hundred twenty five (2,126). These cases are from Cebu City (23), Cebu Province (3), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Cebu Province (3) Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Cebu City (29), Mandaue City (2), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Mandaue City (18) and Lapu-Lapu City (2).

The Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH CVCHD) through the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory (VSMMC SNL) has released as of 5:00 pm on 18 May 2020, one hundred ninety-six (196) test results. A total of nineteen (19) positive results, two (2) of which were repeat tests of previously confirmed cases were reported.
The DOH CVCHD-operated Cebu TB Reference Laboratory Molecular Facility for COVID-19 Testing (CTRL-MFCT) released one hundred fifteen (115) results, eleven (11) of which were positive for COVID-19. However, one (1) of the positive results was a repeat test of a previously confirmed case.
The seventeen (17) new cases from VSMMC- SNL and the ten (10) new cases from CTRL-MFTC have increased the total COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas to two thousand forty-six (2,046). These cases are from Cebu City (5), Cebu Province (8), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Cebu City (10) and Mandaue City (1).
The one (1) death recorded is a 66-year-old male residing in Cebu Province. He was admitted in a government hospital in Cebu City due to brain compression.
