TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION CENTER - ARGAO
In 1984, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Region VII initiated to establish a regional treatment and rehabilitation center for drug dependents patterned after the former NBI-Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (now DOH-TRC) in Tagaytay City in response to the increasing number of drug dependents needing rehabilitation program. In a joint effort with the former Cebu City Mayor Dr. Floretino Solon, the Center began to operate in a rented P1,000.00 / month boy scout owned facility located at Camp Beverly Hills, Lahug, Cebu City. This marked the beginning of the first government owned rehabilitation center in Cebu, the New Horizon Treatment and Rehabilitation Center which later renamed as DOH-TRC Argao (Department of Health - Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Argao).
