Clarification on the Alleged Soundbite Circulating Online on who should be the Recipients of Sinovac Vaccines | Feb 23, 2021
This is to clarify that the alleged soundbite circulating online that is being attributed to Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr, National Task Force against COVID-19 Chief Implementer and Vaccine Czar, on who should be the recipients of Sinovac vaccines is untrue. Sec. Galvez has never issued any such public statement and will never do so. As he has emphasized time and again, he has complete trust and confidence in the opinion of the Vaccine Expert Panel and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as they are science-based, and will follow their recommendations on the vaccines we shall be procuring and administering to our people. We shall also wait for the deliberations of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) on the priority list of recipients so that we shall be guided accordingly.
We advise the public to refrain from sharing this social media card and be critical of all posts you will see online. This kind of manufactured quote does not only malign the image of the Vaccine Czar, but is also sowing confusion, distrust and fear among our people. This is something we would like to avoid as we prepare for the arrival of the vaccines, and the forthcoming rollout of our national vaccine program. At this critical period, we should unite and work hand in hand so that we can achieve our collective goal of putting an end to the pandemic, revive our nationโs economy and create a greater sense of normalcy among our people.
