Laboratory Confirmed COVID19 Cases in Central Visayas, January 31—June 05, 2020
A. Epidemiologic Curve
On January 31, 2020 a Chinese national tourist was admitted at ACE Medical Center, Bohol. On January to February 2020, community contact tracing was conducted in Bohol and Negros Oriental. On March 06, 2020, Negros Oriental reported their first confirmed COVID19 case. On March 13, 2020 Cebu City reported their first confirmed COVID19 case. On April 20, 2020, Cebu City Jail, conducted swabbing activities among PDL and jail personnel. Cases peaked on April 30, 2020 when Cebu City Health Office conducted community contact tracing with simultaneous PCR testing (Figure 1).

B. Distribution of cases by Province/Highly Urbanized Cities (HUC)
A total of 3, 633 Laboratory - Confirmed COVID19 cases with 70 deaths (CFR 2%) has been reported in Central Visayas from January 16 to June 5, 2020. The province with the highest number of confirmed cases were from Cebu (241, 7%). Among the HUCs, Cebu City has the highest (2777, 80% ) COVID19 confirmed cases (Figure 2).

C. Distribution of cases by Age Group and Sex
Majority (2199, 61%) of the cases were males. Age ranged from less than 1 year old to 101 year old, (Median=345years old) and the most (848, 23%) affected age group is 21-30 year old Figure 3).

D. Distribution of Confirmed COVID19 Cases in Jails
Cebu City Jail has 447 (63%) confirmed cases, Mandaue City Jail has 223 (31%) confirmed cases, and Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation (CPDRC) has 41 (6%) confirmed cases (Figure 4).

E.Newly confirmed COVID19 cases
As of June 05, 2020, there were a total of 159 newly confirmed cases. One hundred thirty-five (85%) newly confirmed cases came from Cebu City and 16 (10%) newly confirmed cases came from Cebu province (Table 1).

F. Status of Confirmed COVID19 Cases
One thousand five hundred forty-seven (43%) of the confirmed cases were home isolated, 635 (17%) were admitted, and 1,381 (38%) cases were discharged (Table 2).

G. Classification of Death by Province/HUC
Sixty (86%) incidental deaths and 10 (14%) Covid-related deaths were reported. Most incidental deaths were from Cebu City (34, 49%) and Cebu province (15, 21%) (Figure 5).

H. Infectious Disease by Attack Rate
Among the infectious diseases in Central Visayas, Dengue has the highest number of cases with an attack rate of 1.02% followed by tuberculosis with an attack rate of 0.75% (Table 3).

I. Proportion of Confirmed COVID19 Cases Among Health Care Workers
Most (26, 31%) of the confirmed cases of health care workers were nurses, 14 (17%) confirmed cases were administrative support personnel and 13 (15%) were physicians (Table 3.).
